Self-care, Self-harm and Jesus

How do you make time for self-care?

We need to talk about self-harm as well as self care. Sometimes, we take on the sins of others by harming ourselves, which from the perspective of Jesus is a loving thing and not something to be ashamed of. Also, in our fallen world, the deceptive spirit of Satan attacks us on a daily basis, so self-care is important. But if we know Jesus, we are assured that He works ALL things together for good, so whether we are vaping, drinking, or repenting, self-caring or self-harming, we are doing His will. He loves us like a Father, and fathers discipline and reprove us, but they also love us unconditionally. Thanks be to God.

  1. Hi Steven,

Ben here from Michigan. I appreciated your entry here as I too have been ruminating about self-harm lately as a means of releasing tension and expressing the bad mood I sometimes find myself in, so I do get it. I hope you’re able to manage these moods and are able to stay safe. It’s certainly not easy out there.

    Thanks be to God.

  2. I would like to be permanently removed from the Reflections blog and any emails associated with it. Because when I type a kind, heartfelt message and it gets rejected, I’m done.
This is why I have no social media and I almost never make any comments online.

    1. Dear Ben, I hadn’t rejected your message, I had just been very busy and hadn’t had an opportunity to read it yet. But I respect your wish and will remove you. You can always check back if you would like to. God bless you and peace be with you.

  3. Hey Steven,

My sincerest apologies. I saw my message disappear and overreacted, erroneously assuming my message was consciously deleted by you. I’d like to continue reading the blog. Please ignore the outburst from yesterday.

    God Bless,

    Ben
