Reflections

Steven Colborne's Philosophical Theology Blog

On a Happy Note

I recently wrote an article when I was feeling angry at God and I’m delighted that He doesn’t give up on us even when we feel like giving up ourselves.

I’m still in a hospital but God has been doing great things. One of the reasons why I was feeling so distressed is because I kept on praying for people to be saved and of course there is a process involved in people’s salvation and sometimes they are in a very dark place before God brings them into His glorious light. As empathic creatures, we suffer when those around us suffer. But God has been using me in wonderful ways to bring the Gospel to the broken and I can only rejoice.

The mental health system in London is highly oppressive, and I’m relying entirely on God to get me out of hospital. I hope to either return to my flat or go nomadic and I would love the reassurance of an acknowledgment that I am perfectly mentally healthy, which I keep insisting I am. Prayers appreciated for all of the above.

I ran a series of three ads on WordPress recently, each one titled ‘Reflect’ and pointing people to a reflective reflection in support of my book Reflections! I loved running the campaign and got great results statistically, though it didn’t lead to any book sales, sadly. Maybe the campaign brought someone closer to God. That would be reward enough.

I’ve been enjoying drinking lots of lemon and ginger tea and admittedly have been eating loads of chocolate and sweets to help with the woes of being in hospital.

Peace be with you all!

Thanks for reading.

Love,

Steven x
